BP= best price at the time of writing

2.20pm £90,000 bet365 Lancashire Oaks 1m 4f

1(2) 423- Hidden Hope Geoff Wragg 4-9-03 Ted Durcan
Making seasonal debut. Won a weak Cheshire Oaks easily last year and raced consistently in Group Tow and Group Three company afterwards. Held by Punctilious on last year’s form. Best watched. BP= 10/1

2(8) 42-5 Punctilious Saeed Bin Suroor 4-9-03t Kerrin McEvoy
Consistent and very useful last year when third in the Vodafone Oaks at Epsom and second in the Irish Oaks. Needed her first run when things did not go her way over too short a trip in a tactical race. Has her conditions today - fast ground and a mile and a half. The one to beat. BP= 5/2

3(7) 9-12 Shastye John Gosden 4-9-03 Steve Drowne
Probably on the upgrade but this is huge step up in class. Won a Chester handicap off a rating of 70 first time out this season and then ran Godolphin’s Songlark to a neck in a Pontefract conditions race where she might have been flattered. BP= 16/1

4(6) 6-41 Natalie Jane Gerard Butler 3-8-04 Eddie Ahern
Won a Salisbury 10-furlong handicap off a mark of 85 last time and is stepping up in class sharply. BP= 25/1

5(4) 111- Playful Act John Gosden 3-8-04 Jimmy Fortune
Won three of her four starts last year, including the Group Two May Hill at Doncaster and the Group One Meon Valley Stud Fillies Mile at Ascot, beating Maid’s Causeway in the latter. Has taken a while to come to hand say connections and may be a bit ring rusty. BP= 11/4

6(5) 2-41 Ruby Wine James Eustace 3-8-04 Joe Fanning
Surprise winner of a Listed race over this distance at Newbury last time out, getting off the mark there. This is a much tougher test. BP= 14/1

7(3) 4-21 Seven Magicians Sir Michael Stoute 3-8-04 Robert Winston
Won a 10-furlong maiden at Sandown in good style but this is a big step up in class. BP= 9/1

8(1) 2-12 Twyla Tharp John Gosden 3-8-04 Robert Havlin
Just beaten in the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot at York. Obviously, very useful but had a hard race there and may need more time to recover. BP= 7/2

SUMMARY
Punctilious
may be favourite but she is excellent value to beat a field who have question marks against them.
