ONE PUNTER IN HUNT FOR £48,000 SCOOP6 BONUS PRIZE FUND

One lucky Scoop6 punter, already £52,646 better off after landing the entire Scoop6 Win fund to himself last Saturday has the chance to see his winnings top the £100,000 mark tomorrow with a shot at the £47,999 Bonus Prize Fund.

The anonymous punter placed his £2 bet at a Ladbrokes shop in Kingsbury in London and now has to pick the winner of the 24 runner Lincoln Handicap to join the distinguished list of small staking Scoop6 players to have landed a six-figure return on the bet.

"Ever since Paul Freeman parted with his £8 to land over £517,000 on the bet last November we've seen a string of small staking punters hitting the 'big-time' on the Scoop6," said Tote spokesman Jeremy Scott.

"Indeed small staking punters have been doing so well on the bet that even if our mystery punter lands the Bonus Prize fund spoils tomorrow and becomes a six-figure Scoop6 winner, he still won't earn himself a place in the top 10 small staking/big winning Scoop6 'Hall of Fortune'".

"Our anonymous punter has already overcome a number of hurdles to get his £52,000 Win fund dividend in the bank, and although there won't be any more on the course for his Bonus Prize fund attempt, the 24 runner Lincoln Handicap still represents a major obstacle between him and the £48,000 Bonus Prize fund."

Saturday's Scoop6 legs are:

1.55 Doncaster
2.10 Newbury
2.30 Doncaster
3.05 Doncaster
3.20 Newbury
3.40 Doncaster

HIND ON VERGE OF FIRST JOCKEYS' CHAMPIONSHIP

Gary Hind all but sealed his first UAE Jockey's Championship at Nad Al Sheba last Thursday night, a winning treble increasing his lead to seven with just seven meetings of the season remaining.

Jebel Ali trainer Allan Smith prepared the three winners for Hind enabling him put further pressure on the leaders in the Trainer¹s Championship, he now lies second behind Kiaran McLaughlin.

The three winners took Smith's seasonal tally to 40 but with the trainer¹s title decided on prizemoney, McLaughlin still maintains a slender lead.

The highlight of the Smith-Hind treble was Emteyaz's win in the AED200,000 Godolphin Seven Stars, the horse overhauling Elghani to deny that horse his second win in the race in three years.

Instructions from Sheikh Mohammed himself saw Jamie Spencer ride his first winner in the Emirates for 2002/2003 and maintain a 100% record on Dublin at Nad Al Sheba last Thursday night.

In a high class three-year-old Conditions field, Dublin, winner of last season's Group III Champagne Stakes at Goodwood, Dublin, returned to his best to provide Spencer with a belated first success.

Spencer had to sit out for his first three weeks in Dubai due to a suspension incurred in Hong Kong however his association with Dublin went to three wins from three rides with his defeat of the highly regarded Al Saqaar and Endemaj in the Swain Conditions Stakes.

Spencer revealed after the race that his riding instructions came directly from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"I didn't think I would get to the first two but he really found the line well," Spencer said.

"Sheikh Mohammed gave me the instructions and he was right, he said not to get too far back and the horse would finish well and that is exactly what he did. He certainly knows his horses."

Dublin was the second winner on the night for trainer Saeed bin Suroor after Qais¹ win in the opening event, the Sahm Maiden.
