PURPLE MOON 10-1 FOR HONG KONG VASE AFTER JAPAN CUP EFFORT

Purple Moon is 10-1 with Coral for the Hong Kong Vase, after Luca Cumani's charge finished a creditable ninth in the Japan Cup at the weekend. Last year's Vase winner, Doctor Dino, is 3-1 favourite for a repeat win, while the British-trained pair of Muhannak and Buccellati are both 7-1.

Coral has also opened betting on the three other Hong Kong international races, and make Europe's champion sprinter, Marchand D'Or, 5-2 favourite for the Hong Kong Sprint. Local star Viva Pataca is 2-1 market leader for the ten-furlong Hong Kong Cup, while Kip Deville heads the betting for the Hong Kong Mile at 4-1.

"British punters enjoyed a profitable Breeders' Cup thanks to the success of the European raiders at Santa Anita, and with a strong team heading to Hong Kong, they will be hoping for more of the same at Sha Tin next week," said Coral's David Stevens.
