A 9/1 WINNER FOR CODEBREAKER

CODEBREAKER, formerly in the Racing Post Weekender, is now exclusively featured on racenews.co.uk and every week works out, by using past runnings, which horse is the most likely winner of one race each Saturday.

Codebreaker is posted each Friday for the next day’s racing. On Saturday, December 6, 2003, Codebreaker focused on the William Hill Handicap Hurdle.

The conclusion was “We are therefore left with the Mary Reveley-trained OVERSTRAND as this week’s Codebreaker selection.

"He has won his last three starts, has the assistance of top Irish rider Ruby Walsh in the saddle, and meets all of the criteria required to win a race of this nature.”

OVERSTRAND WON AT 9/1 so why not read CODEBREAKER every week at www.racenews.co.uk

FESTIVAL FEVER AS FAVOURITES DOMINATE

It was Festival fever yesterday at Sandown as two leading Cheltenham hopes stamped their authority on their rivals.

In a race abundant with stars that could have been the Champion Chase itself, the William Hill Tingle Creek Chase, Moscow Flyer proved he is still the best two- miler around and is now the 6-4 favourite with Hills.

Azertyuiop was pushed out to 7-2 after chasing the winner home, but that was snapped up and he was cut back in to 11-4 again.

Thisthatandtother also impressed in the Extraman Trophy and is now 2-1 favourite from 3-1 for the Irish Independent Arkle Chase,

Atum Re ran a big race and is now 33-1 and Our Armegeddon is clipped in to 20-1 from 25.

Elsewhere Sir Rembrandt was mighty impressive at Chepstow and now heads the list for the Coral Welsh National at 7-2 favourite, with Hills also introducing him in to the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup betting at 20-1.

Supreme Prince also showed his potential and is cut to 12-1 for the Royal & SunAlliance Chase.
