SCOOP6 POOLS COULD REACH HALF A MILLION NEXT WEEKEND
As much as £500,000 could be on offer to punters having a crack at the Scoop6 next Saturday after the bet out-foxed those studying the cards from Cheltenham and Doncaster yesterday.
A total of £338,268 was bet on the Scoop6 yesterday, which sees a Win fund rollover of £124,312 and a Bonus Prize fund rollover of £243,660 start the bet off next Saturday.
“With only 53 runners declared overnight, and two of racing's most popular venues hosting the bet, it always looked like being a Scoop6 which punters would warm to," said Tote spokesman Jeremy Scott, "and, as the rain lashed down and more horses came out, the odds continued to improve in favour of the big bet punters."
“However, the unpredictable nature of the Scoop6 - which has become part of the bet’s charm - saw lines go crashing as hot favourites failed to deliver, and outsiders had their day. Seventeen lines remained going into leg five, yet none made it through to have a stab at the big prize.”
“A single winner of the Scoop6 next Saturday going on to land the Bonus Prize fund the following week could be up to £500,000 richer.”
Yesterday's Scoop6 Place fund paid £414.50 to 204 punters.
RINCE RI 16-1 FOR GOLD CUP AFTER LANDING PILLAR GAMBLE
Rince Ri was given a 16-1 quote from 33-1 by Coral for this year's Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup after landing a major on-course gamble when winning the Pillar Property Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday. Rince Ri was backed from 10-1 down to 9-2 before beating Legal Right in courageous style.
Vol Solitaire is the new 14-1 favourite from 33-1 for The Triumph Hurdle with Coral following a good performance earlier in the day and Moor Lane's win in the Great Yorkshire Chase earnt him a 25-1 quote from 33-1 for the Martell Grand National in April.
Limestone Lad's easy win at Naas didn't cause a ripple in Coral's ante-post list for the Stayers’ Hurdle and he remains at 5-1.
