live from California

6.20pm UK time $2 million BREEDERS’ CUP DISTAFF 1m 1f dirt

GOT KOKO is the value - she is the right age - four - loves Santa Anita and will be suited by the strong early pace bound to be set by Take Charge Lady and Elloluv while the hot favourite Sunseek has yet to win at Santa Anita despite three runs.

6.55pm UK time $1 million BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE FILLIES 1m 110yds dirt

The favourite Halfbridled has been drawn in the coffin box 14 and is worth opposing with CLASS ABOVE the obvious one. Get on each-way.

7.35pm UK time $1.5 million BREEDERS’ CUP MILE 1m turf

This is a race to forget since the turf course is tight and it is all about luck in running, especially around the first bend.

8.10pm UK time $1,180,000 BREEDERS’ CUP SPRINT 6f dirt

They will show amazing speed here and it might be worth taking a chance with CAPTAIN SQUIRE who is a front runner and has won on the track. Back each-way at American pari-mutuel odds.

8.45pm UK time $1,060,000 BREEDERS’ CUP FILLY & MARE TURF 1m 2f turf

This is a difficult race and one to give a miss.

9.20pm UK time $1.5 million BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE 1m 110yds dirt

Another tricky contest - there are not enough clues.

9.55pm UK time $2,120,000 BREEDERS’ CUP TURF 1m 4f turf

The race of the day - with Storming Home, Falbrav, Sulamani and High Chaparral. It is a fascinating contest but probably not a betting heat - I like SULAMANI but we will have to wait and see.

10.35pm UK time $4 million BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC 1m 2f dirt

This is not as good a race as usual due to a high number of defections. PLEASANTLY PERFECT is an excellent price and must have a sound chance, knowing the track well. A decisive winner of the Goodwood Handicap, he is a fresh sort who could improve again. Good each-way value.
